Pitter-patter of Tiny Feet

One of my friends and colleagues had a baby shower this morning!
She is expecting a little boy and what better way to celebrate than to bake and make!?

I helped organise the morning tea at work and it was enjoyed by all.
Vanilla cupcakes were my treat!
I also made the baby two toys. A rattle to shake about and an unusual bear to snuggle tight.

What do you think? Pretty cute hey!

Splat! Splatoon!

This year the boy's birthday theme was all about Splatoon after the recent release
of the second game on Nintendo Switch.

I got out the felt to make 10 squidlings for the party bags and I made him a character. This is Callie!

The party bags were a huge hit for all of the kids and I heard reports that some of them
were snuggling them at night. That is really special and is one of the reasons why I love handmade!

Charizard Pokémon crochet softie

This was the best surprise present for a Charizard fan! I crocheted my version of him and made a softie, figuring out the pattern as I went. Next time I will record the steps so that I can share them. If you want some add structure to your softies just add some wire on the inside. I was really happy with the little guy!

Pikachu to the rescue!

If you are feeling a bit crafty but want something simple to make that the
kids will love, why not paint a Pokémon character or two?

I painted Pikachu flying out of a small canvas because we love his
chubby belly and happy grin. Acrylic paints are easy to use and quick to dry.
Give it a go!

Pokémon Go-Go

Are you or has your family and friends been wild over Pokémon for the past year since the Pokémon Go mania took hold? Need some Pokémon themed ideas for crafty presents? Check out what I made last year! You could make some too!

The boy really wanted a Pokémon Go themed birthday party. His wish was my command. I crocheted Poke Balls for each of the party bags and decorated the party bags to match. You can get the crochet pattern for the balls here.

I was inspired at Christmas time and made decorations for our tree. I bought white baubles and used glitter paint to create the desired effect. Then adhere a gem on the front with glue. Head to the $2 shop for your supplies and these make great presents.

There were little figures all over the house so I thought about upcycling jars to make Poke Ball Jars. Wash your recycled jars and paint the lids with acrylic paints. They are fun and can be taken on-the-go - Pokémon Go!

Lastly, I made a Poke Terrarium using a store bought glass vase, fake flowers, little figures and hot glue. Don’t burn yourself… (I may have…)

Fun things to Pokémon Go-Go!
